01What it sells and who buys it
Rillet automates accounting, close and financial reporting around a company's general ledger. Finance teams migrate real books into the system rather than using it solely as a peripheral assistant.
02How the business makes money
Revenue comes from business agreements for ongoing use of the accounting platform. Data migration and workflow adoption are part of the purchase process.
03Marketing and customer acquisition
Rillet won trust for a core ledger and expanded through accounting relationships.

Use references and partners to reach buyers
SourceAfter three years of development, Rillet launched in August 2024 and reported 100 customers by year-end. It supplements direct sales with accounting-firm and investor partnerships. Financing the next stage
SourceSeries A and B rounds arrived ten weeks apart in 2025. In 2026, Rillet announced a $100 million Series C led by ICONIQ at a $1 billion valuation, alongside more than 600 customers and new ARR doubling in the preceding quarter.
How the growth mechanism works
- Understand the close process
- Connect the existing ledger
- Deliver a completed close
- Expand through accounting partners

04Funding and expansion
Series A and B rounds arrived ten weeks apart in 2025. In 2026, Rillet announced a $100 million Series C led by ICONIQ at a $1 billion valuation, alongside more than 600 customers and new ARR doubling in the preceding quarter.
More about the founding and key events
Nicolas Kopp had experienced how difficult it could be to obtain timely financial close results, even with a capable finance team. Founded in 2021, Rillet spent roughly three years building before its August 2024 launch. It had ten employees at launch and says it reached 100 customers by the end of that year.
Accounting firms and investors are part of its expansion. Its partner program lets accounting service providers implement Rillet for their customers and investors introduce it to portfolio companies. The program offers training, joint marketing and commissions. It reaches finance leaders through organizations that already work with them.
Rillet manages the ledger and accounting workflow. Customers must trust it enough to migrate the records at the center of recurring financial work. In August 2026, it announced more than 600 customers and funding at a $1 billion valuation. Kopp was profiled at age 39 earlier that year.
